The Supervision and Leadership Certificate offers core courses related to Supervision and Leadership. The certificate has been designed to develop skills and technical knowledge regarding supervisory management and leadership. It will prepare students interested in entering supervision and leadership positions in their current or future industry. The curriculum was developed in partnership with general business representatives from most types of local industries. Therefore, it provides training that meets general industry expectations. Students will gain an understanding and skills in planning, communication, information systems, organizing, leading, and controlling personnel in a lawful and humanistic way to achieve organizational goals effectively. Upon completion of this certificate, students may qualify to become entry-level supervisors or above within their fields, and they should expect a wage increase as they move into these positions.
The Certificate in Supervision and Leadership is designed to fill the needs of industry by providing students with the knowledge and skills required for career advancement in the workplace as well as providing students with the skills they need to enter a new career as a supervisor or manager. Students who complete this certificate will earn 21 credit hours that can be transferred to a number of associate degrees.
