WELD 2630 - Welding for the Arts ICredits: 3
This course is intended to introduce the student to the basics of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and how it can be applied to basic welding projects such as metal sculpture, auto repair, metal fence building, and theatre set production. The student should be able to discuss GMAW and its processes and principles, have a basic knowledge of welding power supplies, tools, and equipment, and be able to discuss electrical safety for welding majors.
