GEOL 2050 - Principles of PaleontologyCredits: 3
Paleontology is the study of life on this planet through the evidence of the fossil record. It includes the study of fossils to determine organisms’ evolution and interactions with each other and their environments. The course covers major geological changes in Earth’s history in chronological order and the relationship between geology and the evolution of life on this planet. A significant portion of the course will be the identification of fossils from major periods of Earth’s history in order to demonstrate evolution over time at the macro level. This course will make extensive use of the scientific method and hands-on learning. Local field trips may be required.
Prerequisite: ENGL 1010, C or Better
