Health science refers to a large group of disciplines related to the delivery of health care through the application of science, engineering, mathematics and technology. In health science, knowledge is taken from natural sciences, behavioral sciences and other related fields and applied to clinical practice. The A.S. in Health Science encompasses the foundation for numerous health science occupations. A health science degree is appropriate for individuals who are interested in going on to more advanced degrees such as radiology technician, dental hygiene, physical therapy assistant, veterinary technology, mortuary science, and nursing. The design of our curriculum allows for flexibility not only with regard to general education courses, but provides maximum flexibility for students to tailor their major area within the wider umbrella of the health sciences. Students are strongly encouraged to discuss their academic program with their faculty advisor.
