Natural Sciences, A.S.

Natural science is a branch of science concerned with the description, prediction, and understanding of natural phenomena, based on empirical evidence from observation and experimentation (i.e. the Scientific Method). The A.S. in Natural Sciences encompasses the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, as well as several of the pre-professional scientific fields (pre-medicine, pre-veterinary, pre-dentistry, and pre-pharmacy). The design of our curriculum allows for flexibility not only with regard to general education courses, but provides maximum flexibility for students to tailor their major area within the wider umbrella of the natural sciences. Students are strongly encouraged to discuss their academic program with their faculty advisor.
