This introductory course in the area of retail store operation will survey the organization and functions of a retail business and the changes taking place in modern retailing. Topics covered include organization procedures, store location and lay- out, merchandising functions and policies, buying practices and policies, inventory control, pricing strategies and policies, law and regulations important in the field of retailing, franchising, and personnel functions.
