WELD 2650 - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding–Pipe

Credits: 3

The purpose of this course is to give students a basic understanding of welding carbon and stainless 6” pipe in the 2G, 5G, and 6G pipe positions. Students will utilize the GTAW for root and hot passes and remaining passes with SMAW. Destructive root and face bends will be conducted and evaluated for compliance with American Welding Society of Mechanical Engineers specifications.
Prerequisite: WELD 1780
