WELD 1760 - Advanced Shield Metal Arc Welding

This course covers the basic theories of DC-shielded metal arc welding. Students will gain an understanding of proper welding electrode selection, applicable welding codes, machine setup and maintenance, and safe practices associated with shop practices. The welding of ferrous metals in multiple positions in a T-joint configuration will be practiced with an emphasis on visual and destructive testing methods.
