PEPR 1130 - Teaching Individual/Group Fitness Credits: 3 This course is designed for individuals to learn how to safely instruct individual and group training/fitness sessions. Students learn proper technique for a variety of exercises using a various types of equipment and body weight. Students will learn how to teach and critique proper form for the exercises they learn. Analysis and correction of others’ technique will be emphasized. Students will learn how to safely and effectively teach exercises in a group setting. New exercises will be taught and perfected throughout the semester. By the end of the course, students will have learned how to correctly perform exercises and be able to teach, analyze and correct the exercise technique of others. Emphasis is placed on teaching safe and effective use of all equipment.
Prerequisite: PEPR 2130 (May be taken concurrently) Corequisite: PEPR 2130
