MATH 1000 - Problem Solving Credits: 3 A course in quantitative reasoning that examines modern topics for their applicability and accessibility. Provides students with mathematical and logical skills needed to formulate, analyze, and interpret quantitative arguments in a variety of settings. Topics include financial mathematics, elementary logic and set theory, introduction to probability, basic statistics, unit conversion, applications of algebra as well as other topics of interest.
Prerequisite: MATH 920 (C or better), or TECH 1000 (B or better), or MATH 720 and MATH 760 (B or better in each), ACT Math score of 21 or higher, or ALEKS score of 30-45 Corequisite: Students with ALEKS score of 14-29 may take MATH 921 concurrently and not have to take MATH 920
