Nursing - Practical Nursing Certificate

Nursing Program, Associate Degree and PN Certificate

Students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program may enroll in NURS 1900 Practical Nursing Roles in the summer semester after successfully completing NURS 1100 and 1200. After successful completion of NURS 1900 the student is eligible to graduate with a PN Certificate. The PN certificate recipient is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN). State licensure is required for employment as a licensed practical nurse in Wyoming.

BIOL 1010 - General Biology Credits: 4
BIOL 2015 - Human Anatomy & Physiology II Credits: 4
BIOL 2010 - Human Anatomy & Physiology I Credits: 4
MATH 1400 - College Algebra Credits: 3
NURS 1100 - Prof Nursing Care in Health Promotion Credits: 9
NURS 1200 - Prof Nursing Care of the Patient with Chronic Illness Credits: 10
NURS 1900 - Practical Nursing Roles Credits: 1
PSYC 1000 - General Psychology Credits: 3

Total Credit Hours: 41

Students admitted to the Associate Degree Nursing Program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN following successful completion of NURS 1100 , NURS 1200 , NURS 1900 and all pre- and co-requisite courses.

All above courses must be completed with a “C” or better to earn the Certificate in Practical Nursing.

All prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the Spring semester prior to fall admission.

Students must be admitted to the program in order to enroll in Nursing courses.

Nursing courses available on campus and select distance sites. Theory portion may be delivered using distance methodology. Students may need access to a computer with video and audio capability.
