The Pre-Engineering program will provide a degree pathway for students who want to pursue engineering in spite of the fact they they are not calculus-ready at the time of their first semester. Also, this program will provide a degree that allows students to finish the Mechanical Engineering Specialization with one additional year. Upon completion, the students will be able to transfer with Junior status into the ME program at the University of Wyoming.

- In addition to ENGL 1010 , students may be required to also take ENGL 1011 (2 credits) due to placement, adding 2 additional credits to their graduation total.
- MATH 1400 or higher.

- MATH 2200 or higher.
- General Electives must be 1000 level or higher. Students are encouraged to take the Engineering Internship course ES 2470 depending on availability.

- MATH 2205 or higher.
- STEM Elective courses include: CHEM 1030 , COSC 1010 , COSC 1030 , COSC 1100 , ES 2230 , ES 2240 , ES 2470, GEOL 1100 , MATH 2250 , MATH 2300 , MATH 2310 , or STAT 2050 . Courses should be determined by the Engineering Advisor and student.
Based on course prerequisites and their interdependencies the ES (Engineering Science) courses should be taken in the listed semester. Please consult an Engineering Advisor for recommendations when considering any deviations.
One additional year of Western’s engineering curriculum following the Pre-Engineering degree will allow students to transfer to most institutions with junior level standing.
