The Supervision and Leadership Certificate offers core courses related to Supervision and Leadership. The certificate has been designed to develop skills and technical knowledge regarding supervisory management and leadership to prepare students interested in to entering supervision and leadership positions in their current or future industry. The curriculum was developed in partnership with general business representatives from most types of local industries. Therefore, it provides training that meets general industry expectations. Students will gain an understanding and skills in planning, communication, information systems, organizing, leading and controlling personnel in a lawful and humanistic way to effectively achieve the organizational goals. Upon completion of this certificate, students may qualify to become an entry-level supervisor or above within their fields, and should expect a wage increase as they move into these positions.

The Certificate in Supervision and Leadership is designed to fill the needs of industry by providing students with the knowledge and skills required for career advancement in the workplace as well as providing students with the skills they need to enter a new career as a supervisor or manager. Students who complete this certificate will earn 21 credit hours that can be transferred to a number of A.A.S. or A.A. degrees.

  • CMAP 1200  may be replaced by COSC 1200 or IMGT 2400 
  • In addition to ENGL 1010 , students may be required to also take ENGL 1011  (2 credits) due to placement, adding 2 additional credits to their graduation total.

  • Approved Electives can be fulfilled with the following courses: Spreadsheet Applications (CMAP 1765 ), Technical Writing (ENGL 2005 ), Intro to Natural Resources (G&R 1050), or Problem Solving (MATH 1000 ).
  • ENGL 2005  may be replaced by ENGL 1020 
  • Any MATH courses above MATH 1000  may be used as an Approved Elective.
