Sports psychology is the study of mental factors affecting athletic skills and performance, as well as during sports injuries, and applies psychological science to sports. This course will provide an overview of the growing field of Sport Psychology. Subjects studied during this course will cover the foundations of sports psychology, the psychological influence in sport, recreational activity, injury and rehabilitation, and performance enhancement techniques. Topics will include theoretical foundations of counseling, psychological interventions for performance troubles, and mood dysfunctions through injury, rehabilitation, and return to sport.
