Admission to the Emergency Medical Services Paramedicine Program


Admission Process

Students may discuss admission criteria by contacting one of the EMS Faculty. The total number of students accepted each year is 12 for fall admission each year.  Qualified applicants who have not been admitted will be placed on an alternate list. If positions become available to accommodate additional eligible applicants, those on the alternate list will be notified. Applicants not admitted must re-apply for the next year. Re-applicants will be subject to the same scrutiny and consideration as an initial applicant. Applicants who are admitted but decline entrance into the program must re-apply.

To apply for the Emergency Medical Services Paramedicine program:

  1. Complete Western admissions process. Receive acceptance to the college.
  2. Complete the Emergency Medical Services Paramedicine Program application on program website.  Closes May 15 for Fall admission.

Admission Criteria:

  1. Current, valid Wyoming Licensure as an EMT or AEMT.

 *Western Wyoming Community College offers the EMT-Basic course each semester which, depending on an individual’s previous work experience may need to be completed as an additional pre-requisite course.

  1. Completion of prerequisite courses with C or better.
